 Description of Garden
Designer: Mr & Mrs John Phillips
This garden has a 6 acre plateau, high Downs to north, and a distant view to the south west of Alfred's Tower at Stourhead which can be seen on a clear day.

Herbaceous borders, a white and pastel garden, as well as an old rose garden and shrub & tree walks are prominent features. There are three water gardens, 90 feet below the main level, each leading into another, together with a very small lake and an extensive range of wet-growing plants and primulas. Also there are gunneras, rodgersias, bamboos and a number of tree species including metasequoia and a Chinese tulip tree.

33 acres of woodland offer bluebells in late April, and a large number of erythroniums (dog tooth violets) around the oaks in the same season make for tranquil walks.

The garden and woodland form, in effect, an arboretum in which a wide range of species and hybrid trees from around the world may be seen in various stages of maturity.
 History of Garden
Designed by present owners, constructed from ancient mixed woodland; being the amenity woodland of the Roundway Estate, over the last 42 years.
