 Description of Garden
Designer: Lady Cavendish
Holker Hall, winner of the 1991 HHA Gardens of the Year Award, includes formal and woodland areas covering 25 acres. The gardens provide interest for gardeners and non-gardeners alike throughout the season (March-October). The range of many rare and beautiful plants and shrubs is a reflection of Lord and Lady Cavendish's passion for plants. "This is combined with the benefits that come with owning a Gulf Stream garden; a factor that ensures a fantastic micro-climate for plants from throughout the world. A must see is the beautifully designed cascade imitating that in a Moghul garden. The spectacular arboretum with over 1,000 varieties, many of them very fine specimens, is also not to be missed.
 History of Garden
The famous murder mystery game "Foul Play" was filmed in the Hall at Holker.
