| Description of Garden | Designer:
Lady Cavendish |
||||||||||||
| Holker Hall, winner of the 1991 HHA Gardens of the Year Award, includes formal and woodland areas covering 25 acres. The gardens provide interest for gardeners and non-gardeners alike throughout the season (March-October). The range of many rare and beautiful plants and shrubs is a reflection of Lord and Lady Cavendish's passion for plants. "This is combined with the benefits that come with owning a Gulf Stream garden; a factor that ensures a fantastic micro-climate for plants from throughout the world. A must see is the beautifully designed cascade imitating that in a Moghul garden. The spectacular arboretum with over 1,000 varieties, many of them very fine specimens, is also not to be missed. | |||||||||||||
