 Description of Garden
Designer:
A small white weather-boarded house, the home of Leonard & Virginia Woolf, until Leonard's death in 1969. The rooms reflect the life and times of the literary circle in the which they moved. The garden has four contrasting sections - formal walled area, orchard, open lawn and Kitchen garden. "Our orchard is the very place to sit and talk for hours in". Virginia wrote in her diary. A typical Sussex flint church lies at the bottom of the garden.
 History of Garden
Bought by the Woolfs in 1919 as a country retreat.
