 Garden Features
Garden made since 1952, in a setting including Cotswold stone features, by Rosemary Verey English Heritage Garden Grade:

 Description of Garden
Designer:
An important and influential garden, which has been sold, with the house, to the Cotswold Pub Company, (owners of The Village Pub in Barnsley), who are intending to convert the house into a hotel and restaurant. It is expected that the new owners will open the garden to guests of the hotel and restaurant. The four acre garden blends many styles in an artful and pleasing combination with subtle and beautiful colour and texture coordination. The kitchen garden has many small beds and features fruit trees trained against the Cotswold stone walls and box hedges edging the paths. The famous laburnum walk, with wisteria and allium is at its best in late May and early June.
 History of Garden
The house dates from 1697 and the garden is enclosed on three sides by a stone wall dating from 1770. The garden was created by Rosemary Verey after she and her husband David Verey inherited the property from his father in 1951. It featured in many of her TV gardening programmes.
