Description of Garden

Designer: William Nesfield

A large woodland garden of 10 ha, forming an atmosphere of temperate rainforest. There are many large trees, of which more than 20 are the tallest of their type in the country. Much new planting is being undertaken within geographic zones, all sheltered in a valley.

History of Garden

Created largely in the mid 19th century by the Carlyon family, it is still privately owned by descendants of the original creators.
