Garden History: In 1897 Algernon Bertram Freeman Mitford rebuilt Batsford House and planted trees in a style that he had seen as part of his travels as British Envoy in Japan and China. In 1916 Lord Dulverton developed the Arboretum with further plantings. In 1984 Batsford Foundation was established as a charitable trust.
