Designer: Description of Garden: There is something of interest for everyone in the garden at Belmont; a mixture of formal and informal, herbaceous, woodland, fruit and vegetable that has evolved over the years since the gardens were first laid out by Colonel John Montresor in the 1790's. These family gardens provide interest out the season. To the east and south of the house are large formal lawns (including croquet lawns) dotted with fine specimen trees, which includes a Tulip tree that is over 100 years old and a Cedar of Lebanon. There is a woodland area and Pineteum (which includes a shell grotto to the west and a small walled garden bordering to the courtyard to the north). The latter has extensive long borders, magnificent wisteria and a large rose border. History: Developed by the owners. New Kitchen Garden designed by Lady Arabella Lennox-Boyd.
