Designer: Description of Garden: Set within 10 acres, the formal Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens have been restored to their former 18th century glory, offering an oasis of tranquillity within their walls. They contain a large collection of unusual period plants, and a 19th century Holly maze. There is an elegant summer house and greenhouse standing each end of the broad Holly Walk. In the formal vegetable garden, many historic vegetables and herbs are grown including unusual varieties like the Black 'Congo' potato and white carrot. There are many trained fruit trees, featuring apple, pear, apricot, fig and cherry. History: The designers of these gardens were Captain William Winde, George London & Henry Wise, and for the vegetable garden, Batty Langley was the designer. All these were employed by the Bridgeman family, who were owners of the Hall at that time.
