Historical walk shows a variety of plant species introduced by a succession of famous curators. The garden is three and a half acres in all, showing the history of medicinal plants, with world medicine beds and the oldest rock garden in Europe, dating from 1773. History: Founded in 1673 by the Society of Apothecaries, it is one of the oldest botanic gardens and the only one to retain the title 'Physic' after the old name for the healing arts.
