Restoration to its 18th century form is nearly complete with the features he described and plants of his time displayed in 'Six Quarters'; Naturalists' garden and vegetable garden. Interesting 'quincunx', comprising a layout of five cypress trees on a mound which replicates that originally devised by White. A revolving 'Wine Pipe' overlooks the miniature landscape garden and magnificent beech-clad Hanger. There is a good selection of unusual plants for sale. History: The garden has been restored to resemble how it was in the Rev. Gilbert White's day (1720-1793) with features and plants of the eighteenth century.
