Designer: Description of Garden: About 27 acres of beautiful, peaceful woodland with rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias and bluebells in spring and good autumn colour. The water gardens include many ponds and streams. There are a large variety of naturalised wild plants including orchids, gentians and primulas. The owners specialise in the 'species' form of plants, ie the original, wild forms. The gardens are full of rare, historic and interesting plants. History: The garden was designed by Colonel GH Loder in 1906, a member of the well known gardening family. It is now a charitable trust, managed by Edward and Anne Boscawen, members of RHS Committee B, and are well known horticulturalists and botanical travellers. The woodland and water garden are managed by Sarah Bray.
