There are formal terraces at the south front which look over the south lawn and lake to the woodland garden. On the north side there is lawn with mature trees at the other side of which is a magnificent gateway leading to the formal garden and herbaceous borders. Sadly the walled garden is no longer open to the public. Wonderful stables, described as "perfection". History: Kinross designed the four formal terrace gardens which are planted in Edwardian style. The lake, the shape of the landscaping and the Chinese bridge probably all date from the 18th century when the original house was built.
