Designer: Description of Garden: The grounds of Nostell Priory include a vista of Sycamores to the front, set in glorious parkland with lakeside walks and the breathtaking spectacle of massed rhododendrons in flower. There are many beautiful varieties of scented rose in the Rose Garden. The 350 acres of parkland, acquired with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, are being restored to their c1850s appearance. History: The House was built in 1733 for Sir Rowland Winn, the 4th baronet, and is a magnificent example of the 18th century interior style. There is an outstanding art collection, including works by Pieter Breughel the Younger and Angelica Kauffman, together with some splendid Brussels tapestries and a unique clock, made from wood, by John Harrison.
