See website for details Designer: Katie Lukas Description of Garden: A two and a half acre Cotswold garden made up of a series of different rooms surrounding the house, designed to complement the Stone House and countryside around. A 'natural' garden with no spraying involved. Bulbs are a feature with Snowdrops, Scillas and Hellebores brightening the woodland in early Spring and a tapestry of glorious tulips in April and May. The Meadow Walk is host to naturalising Snakeshead Fritillaries, followed on by Camassias and late Narcissi. History: Much re-modelling of the garden was required when the Lukas's moved in in 1990, particularly the Stream Garden and Herb Garden, the former benefitting from strategically placed drainage pipes to prevent flooding. Almost all the original trees were moved into the Wild Meadow Garden. All the walls have gradually been rebuilt over the years, which enabled the designer to make arches and steps down from the top Borders to the Pool garden and Crab Apple Walk. The Pool Garden, featuring a Pergola, was put in in the early 2000s and now includes rose-covered arbour. From the Terrace a line of fastigiated Hornbeams now create archways through to the Meadow and Vegetable garden. The hornbeams were picked up and moved by another digger from where they sat on top of the HaHa, effectively blocking the lovely view, and placed where they are today. Finally the raised beds in the Vegetable Garden have created perfect growing conditions for summer vegetables. Many Rare & Unusual Perennials, Shrubs and Trees can be found throughout this every changing garden. Local Inns: Accomodation: Restaurants: Village/Town/Sightseeing:
