Features: Designer: Description of Garden: Dating from the 19th century, Whatton House Gardens comprises 15 acres of formal and informal garden with many interesting and unusual features: spring bulbs, woodland garden, ornamental ponds, ancient trees, expansive lawns, magnificent herbaceous borders, old fashioned rose garden and arboretum. History: Whatton House was first built in 1802 and many of the garden's trees date from that time. After a disastrous fire, the house was rebuilt by the first Lord Crawshaw in 1876 and much of the landscaping in the garden was achieved by his wife, the great grandmother of the present Lord Crawshaw.
